My Effie Trinket-inspired emcee for 198W: a Debaucherous Dystopian Cabaret, just before her unraveling. Gown by me.
I live for the challenge of telling the right story to the right audience. It has led me to a varied career and an arsenal of skills both formally educated and learned through experience. As an apparel designer, I create garments that balance timelessness with modernity, inspiring the wearer to move away from disposable fashion and do more with less. As an art director, I want to tell the story of a brand or product in a compelling and authentic way that goes beyond marketing.
In 2018, I completed the Apparel Design and Merchandising program at the College of Alameda, bridging my freelance garment and costume design work into the fashion industry.
After more than a decade as a specialty performer, circus continues to be a cornerstone of my daily life; for info on past and future performances, check me out on instagram: @_ninauiu_
